Abstract PELLETS OF BASIC DYES ARE PREPARED BY COMPRESSING THE FINELY-DIVIDED DYE TO WHICH HAVE BEEN ADDED SMALL AMOUNTS OF IMMISCIBLE MATERIALS, AT LEAST ONE OF WHICH IS A SOLVENT FOR THE DYE AND AT LEAST ONE OF WHICH IS A NONSOLVENT FOR THE DYE, AND OPTIONALLY A DISPERSING AGENT. THESE PELLETS, WHICH ARE CLEAN AND FREE FROM DUST, ARE READILY DISPERSED IN THE VEHICLES THAT ARE USED IN THE MANUFACTURE OF HECTOGRAPH INKS AND OTHER PRINTING INKS.
