Abstract THE METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR APPLYING HIGH FREQUENCY VIBRATIONS ON THE SLICE LIPS OF A PAPER MACHINE FOR EXAMPLE SO AS TO OBTAIN IMPROVED SMOOTH FLOW OF THE PAPER STOCK FROM THE SLICE. THE VIBRATION MAY BE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE LIPS TO MOVE THEM OR VIBRATION OF THE LIPS MAY BE INDUCED BY DRIVING THE LIQUID THROUGH THE LIPS AT THE RESONANT FREQUENCY OF THE LIPS.
