Abstract CYCLIC PEROXIDES ARE PREPARED BY REACTING HYDROXY ACETONE WITH A DIFUNCTIONAL HYDROPEROXIDE. THE REACTION TAKES PLACE IN A SOLVENT AT A TEMPERATURE RANGING FROM ABOUT 0*C. TO 100*C. IN PRESENCE OF AN ACIDIC CATALYST. THE RESULTING CYCLIC PEROXIDES ARE FOUND TO BE HIGHLY EFFICIENT POLYMERIZATION INITIATORS AND CROSS-LINKING AGENTS.
