Abstract A NEW PROCESS IS DISCLOSED REACTING A 2-BENZOYL ACYLANILIDE WITH IONIC CYANIDES TO FORM NEW 3-ARYL-2-IMINO3-INDOLINOLS AND 2-AMINO-3-ARYL-3H-INDOL-3-OLS. THE PRODUCTS MAY BE FURTHER PROCESSED INTO A NUMBER OF NEW DERIVATIVES WHICH HAVE THERAPEUTIC ACTIVITY IN EXPERIMENTAL AND COMPARATIVE PHARMACOLOGY.
