Abstract A PROCESS IS DISCLOSED FOR RESTORING THE CERIUM (IV) EXTRACTION CAPACITY OF A CHEMICALLY AND/OR RADIOLYTICALLY DEGRADED SOLVENT CONSISTING OF DI(2-ETHYLHEXYL) PHOSPHORIC ACID AND TRIBUTYL PHOSPHONATE IN A HYDROCARBON DILUENT. THE DEGRADED SOLVENT IS TREATED WITH AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF POTASSIUM PERMANGANTE AND A MINERAL ACID, PREFERABLY NITRIC ACID.
