Abstract
Abstract Disclosed is a multivibrator for use as a time standard in a wristwatch or other small timepiece. The multivibrator comprises a pair of inverters each including complementary insulated gate field effect transistors. When one transistor in an inverter switches on the other switches off, thus minimizing power drain. A simplified single timing circuit controls the multivibrator half periods and the multivibrator may be synchronized with the natural frequency or some subharmonic of a quartz crystal.
