Abstract 6-(4-ALKYLPIPERAZIN-1-YL) PHENANTHRIDINES IN WHICH THE ALKYL GROUP CONTAINS FROM ONE TO SIX CARBON ATOMS, AND THEIR NON-TOXIC SALTS ARE ACTIVE ON THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM AS ANTIDEPRESSANTS AND MUSCLE-RELAXANTS. THEY MAY BE ADMINISTERED ORALLY TO AN ADULT IN A DOSE OF, E.G., 50 TO 500 MG. PER DAY.
