Abstract IMPROVEMENT IN THE CATALYTIC REDUCTION OF NITROGEN OXIDES IN TAIL GAS FROM NITRIC ACID SYNTHESIS, WHEREIN WATER IS ADDED TO THE TAIL GAS PRIOR TO AND AFTER FINAL REDUCTION SO AS TO GIVE INCREASED REDUCTION, LONGER CATALYST LIFE, AND INCREASED ENERGY AVAILABLE FOR RECOVERY IN THE TREATED EFFLUENT.
