Abstract A BUBBLE-CAP ASSEMBLY FOR A TRAY OF A RECTIFICATION COLUMN, A WASHING COLUMN OR A DISTILLATION COLUMN. THE ASSEMBLY CONSISTS OF A CHIMNEY PLATE MOUNTED UPON THE TRAY WITH ITS CHIMNEY REGISTERING WITH AN OPENING IN THE LATTER AND COVERED BY A CAP OR BELL SPACED THEREABOVE. A NUMBER OF ANGULARLY SPACED TONGUES EXTEND AT RIGHT ANGLE TO THE TRAY AND CONNECT THE CHIMNEY PLATE WITH THE BELL.
