Abstract A LATCH FOR LATCHING DOCKING RINGS ON A SPACE VEHICLE, FOR EXAMPLE. IT INCLUDES A LATCHING HOOK CONNECTED TO A STORED ENERGY POWER PACKAGE, SUCH AS A SPRING, AND A COCKING HANDLE WHICH SIMULTANEOUSLY UNLATCHES THE HOOK AND STORES ENERGY IN THE POWER PACKAGE. IT ALSO INCLUDES TRIGGERING MEANS TO PROPERLY POSITION THE HOOK AND TO RETAIN THE HOOK IN THE COCKED POSITION UNTIL RELEASED AT THE DESIRED TIME.
