Abstract
Abstract AN ELECTRODE SENSITIVE TO CHLORIDE IONS IN SOLUTION, THE ION-SENSITIVE PORTION BEING AN IMPOROUS MEMBRANE OF SILVER SULFIDE AND SILVER CHLORIDE. THE ELECTRODE IS PREPARED BY COPRECIPITATING THE SILVER SALTS, AND AFTER WASHING AND DRYING, COMPRESSING THE COPRECIPITATE, UNDER VACUUM CONDITIONS, INTO A DENSE, IMPOROUS PELLET. BROMIDE AND IODIDE SENSITIVE ELECTRODES ARE PREPARED IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME MANNER FROM SILVER SULFIDE AND THE CORRESPONDING SILVER HALIDE.
