Abstract THE APPARATUS AND METHOD TO ACCOMPLISH FUSION OF THE ENDS OF A BUNDLE OF GLASS FIBERS BY FIRST ENCLOSING THE FIBER BUNDLE ENDS WITHIN A SHORT LENGTH OF GLASS TUBING, AND THEN APPLYING THE AMOUNT OF HEAT NECCESSARY TO INTEGRATE THE FIBERS AND THE QUARTZ OR COLLAR INTO A SINGLE MASS.
