Abstract AN IMPROVED BELT BUCKLE IS DISCLOSED IN TWO EMBODIMENTS. THE FIRST EMBODIMENT IS A TWO PIECE STRUCTURE WITH EACH PIECE HAVING ONE END SLOTTED TO RECEIVE THE BIGHT OF A WAISTBAND. ONE PIECE HAS A FLANGED PROTRUSION AND THE OTHER PIECE HAS AN APERTURE TO ADMIT THE FLANGED PROTRUSION WHEN THE PIECES ARE IN ONE ORIENTATION, BUT WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW ITS REMOVAL WHEN THEY ARE IN A SECOND ORIENTATION. THE SECOND EMBODIMENT IS A SYMMETRIC THREE PIECE STRUCTURE HAVING TWO COUPLINGS EACH SIMILAR TO THE ONE IN THE FIRST EMBODIMENT.
