Abstract A NOVEL METHOD FOR CATALYZING THE FORMATION OF POLYUREA BY THE REACTIONS BETWEEN POLYFUNCTIONAL-ISOCYANATES AND POLYFUNCTIONAL-IMINES THROUGH THE PRESENCE OF AN EFFECTIVE AMOUNT OF A PHENOLIC CATALYST IS PROVIDED. ONE PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT EMBODIMENT COMPRISES THE FORMATION OF POLYUREA FILM COATINGS ON WOOD SUBSTRATES BY REACTING ALKYLENE DIISOCYANATES AND ALKYLENE DIIMINES IN THE PRESENCE OF A CHLORO-SUBSTITUTED PHENOL.
