Abstract A LATCH MECHANISM FOR DRAWER-TYPE CABINETS COMPRISES A VERTICAL LATCH-MOUNTING MEMBER SECURED TO THE CABINET ENCLOSURE AND A LATCH MEMBER MOUNTED ON THE LATCHMOUNTING MEMBER FOR PIVOTAL MOVEMENT INTO AND OUT OF ENGAGEMENT WITH PROJECTING LATCH PIECES ON THE DRAWERS. THE LATCH MEMBER IS MOUNTED ON THE MOUNTING MEMBER BY MEANS OF A SERIES OF SPACED-APART LUGS ON ONE OF THE MEMBERS RECEIVABLE IN CORRESPONDING SLOTS IN THE OTHER OF THE MEMBERS, THE LUGS HAVI NG FORMATION FOR RETAINING THE LATCH MEMBER SECURED TO THE MOUNTING MEMBER WHILE AFFORDING PIVOTAL MOVEMENT.
