Abstract

Abstract An apparatus for heating a great number of synthetic filaments or a tow uniformly and with good thermal efficiency in a slittype heater while having them run in and out of the slit by disposing a plurality of buffer plates in the slit to obstruct outside air flowing into the slit with the running filaments, and thereby prevent a drop of air temperature in the slit, and make possible a substantially constant air temperature transversely of the slit.
