Abstract METHOD FOR MAKING FORMED ARTICLES WITH SHAPED END POINTS FROM STRIP STOCK COMPRISING THE STEPS OF ADVANCING A STRIP, PARTIALLY SERVING AND AT LEAST PARTIALLY SHAPING END PORTIONS OF ADJACENT WORKPIECES, SERVING WORKPIECES, FORMING WORKPIECES TO PROVIDE ARTICLES, AND OPTIONALLY WELDING TOGETHER END PORTIONS. THE PARTIAL SERVING AND PARTIAL END PORTION SHAPING STEP MAY BE CARRIED OUT IN A SINGLE STEP OR IN SUBSIDIARY STEPS INVOLVING RESPECTIVELY PARTIAL SERVING AND END SHAPING. THE FORMING STEP MAY COMPRISE SUBSIDIARY PARTIAL AND FULL FORMING STEPS WITH ADDITIONAL END SHAPING INTERPOSED THEREBETWEEN. A WIDE VARIETY OF END SHAPES MAY BE PROVIDED.
