Abstract AN ASCENSION PIPE ELBOW IS PROVIDED WITH SPRAY NOZZLE CONNECTIONS WHICH ARE DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED AND WHICH LIE IN A PLANE THAT IS PERPENDICULAR TO A VERTICAL PLANE THROUGH THE ELBOW. THE SPRAYS FROM THE NOZZLES ARE DIRECTED TOWARD AN ELBOW EXTENSION LEADING INTO A GAS COLLECTING MAIN. LIQUID SPRAYED FROM THE NOZZLE COATS THE INTERIOR SURFACE OF THE ELBOW.
