Abstract
Abstract A FIBER-RESIN COMPOSITE IS DISCLOSED CONTAINING CARBOCYCLIC AROMATIC POLYAMIDE FIBERS AND INORGANIC FIBERS. THE INORGANIC FIBERS ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE PORTIONS OF THE COMPOSITE WHICH WILL BE SUBJECTED TO COMPRESSIVE STRESS, E.G., THESE FIBERS ARE LOCATED WITHIN THE COMPOSITE WHERE THEY WILL BE SUBJECTED TO COMPRESSION ALONG THERI AXES WHEN THE COMPOSITE IS LOADED. PARTICULAR FLEXURAL PROPERTIES OF THE COMPOSITE ARE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED COMPARED TO COMPOSITES CONTAINING EITHER THE POLYAMIDE FIBERS OR THE INORGANIC FIBERS.
