Abstract FINISHING AGENTS FOR FABRICS OF CELLULOSIC FIBER ARE FORMED BY ACETYLATION OF METHYLOL CARBAMATES. THE ACETOXYMETHYL AGENTS SO FORMED CAN BE USED TO PRODUCE WASH-WEAR AND DURABLE-PRESS CELLULOSIC FABRIC WITH LITTLE RELEASE OF FORMALDEHYDE DURING TREATMENT OF THE FABRIC.
