Abstract AN AQUEOUS MIXTURE OF A THERMOSETTING PHENOL-FORMALDEHYDE RESIN AND A SELF-EXTINGUISHING AGENT, AMMONIUM BROMIDE, IS IMPREGNATED INTO THE SPACES OF AN INCOMPLETELY FUSED THERMOPLASTIC BEAD FOAM. THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS PRODUCED BY HEATING THE FOAM, CONTAINING THE THERMOSETTING RESIN AND SELF-EXTINGUISHING AGENT, TO REMOVE WATER AND CURE THE THERMOSETTING RESIN.
