Abstract A METHOD OF REMOVING MANGANESE CONTAINING DEPOSITS FORMED ON THE SURFACES OF JET ENGINES FROM BURNING FUEL CONTAINING A CYCLOPENTADIENYL MANGANESE TRICARBONYL AS A SMOKE REDUCER, BY TREATING THE CEPOSIT COATED SURFACES WITH AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF HYDROXYLAMINE SALT. HYDROXLYAMINE SALTS OF CARBOXYLIC ACIDS ARE EXAMPLES OF USEFUL COMPOUNDS.
