Abstract A PORTABLE CAMPER THAT IS ATTACHED DIRECTLY TO AN AUTOMOBILE AND COMPRISES A BOX-LIKE SHELL THAT SLIDES ON RUNNERS ATTACHED TO THE TOP OF THE AUTOMOBILE AND THAT IS MOVED FROM A POSITION ENCLOSING THE REAR PORTION OF THE AUTOMOBILE TO A POSITION WHEREIN THE OPEN END OF THE SHELL IS ADJACENT THE REAR OF THE AUTOMOBILE AND WHICH SHELL HAS FLOOR PANELS THAT FOLD DOWN FORMING THE FLOOR AND HAS A FABRIC COVERING THAT EXTENDS FROM THE OPEN END OF THE SHELL TO ENCLOSE THE SPACE BETWEEN THE SIDES AND TOP OF THE AUTOMOBILE AND THE OPEN END FORMING AN ENCLOSED CAMPER SHELL.
