Abstract A PROCESS HAS BEEN PROVIDED FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF AQUEOUS COPOLYMER DISPERSIONS BASED ON VINYL CHLORIDE AND VINYL ESTERS OF BRANCHED ALIPHATIC CARBOXYLIC ACIDS. A DISPERSION OF IMPROVED STABILITY IS OBTAINED BY CARRYING OUT THE POLYMERIZATION OF THE MONOMER MIXTURE IN AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF (A) HYDROXYETHYL CELLULOSE WITH A OC2H4 CONTENT OF 37 TO 50%, (B) AN OXYETHYLATED ALKYL PHENOL WITH 6 TO 25 OC2H4 UNITS IN THE MOLECULE, AND (C) AS AN IONIC EMULSIFIER, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE.
