Abstract RAW PHOSPHATE IS GRANULATED WITH SILICA, AN AQUEOUS ALKALI METAL HYDROXIDE SOLUTION, AND 10 TO 70 PERCENT, CALCULATED ON THE TOTAL MIXTURE, OF THE END PRODUCT AS OBTAINED IN THE PROCESS, PREFERABLY IN HOT CONDITION AND/ OR IN THE PRESENCE OF THE HOT CARBON DIOXIDE CONTAINING WASTE GASES OF A ROTARY KILN, AND THE GRANULATED MIXTURE IS CALCINED IN A ROTARY KILN.
