Abstract ELECTRICALLY ORIENTING THE THRUST VECTOR OF AN ELECTROSTATIC ION THRUSTOR HAVING A GLASS-COATED GRID SYSTEM. HIGHLY NEGATIVE POTENTIALS ARE APPLIED TO CONDUCTORS THAT ARE MOUNTED IN PAIRS AND ARRANGED IN ARRAYS TO FORM THE GRID. THESE ELECTRICAL POTENTIALS ARE INDEPENDENTLY VARIED IN EACH ARRAY TO OBTAIN THE DESIRED AMOUNT OF ION BEAM VECTORING.
