Abstract
Abstract Firing circuitry is disclosed for controlled switching devices such as silicon controlled rectifiers wherein a capacitor is charged during the OFF time of the switching device and is discharged into the gate electrode of the switching device at the same time that a conventional firing pulse is applied thereto, thereby providing a composite firing signal having a high initial amplitude which decays to the level of the conventional pulse.
