AN ELECTRONIC PITCHING AID WHICH COMPRISES: PHOTOELECTRIC MEANS FOR GENERATING A PLANAR MATRIX OF LIGHT MEANS AND PROVIDING A SIGNAL INDICATING THE LOCATION IN WHICH AN OBJECT PASSES HOME PLATE, SAID SIGNAL HAVING A DURATION PROPORTIONAL TO THE TIME SAID OBJECT INTERRUPTS SAID BEAMS, MEANS FOR PASSING ONLY THOSE OF SAID SIGNALS HAVING LESS THAN A PRESELECTED DURATION, AND MEANS FOR SWITCHING ON A LIGHT INDICATING SAID LOCATION IN RESPONSE TO A PASSED SIGNAL.
