A PRESTRESSED CONCRETE STRUCTURE OF GENERALLY ANNULAR CROSS-SECTION HAVING EMBEDDED THEREIN AND BONDED THERETO A SERIES OF LONGITUDINALLY TENSIONED PRESTRESSING WIRES EACH OF WHICH CORRESPONDS TO A STRAIGHT LINE ELEMENT OF A HYPERBOLOID OF REVOLUTION HAVING ITS AXIS COINCIDENT WITH THE AXIS OF SAID STRUCTURE, SUCCESSIVE WIRES IN SAID SERIES HAVING EQUAL AND OPPOSITE ANGULARITY WHEREBY THE SERIES OF WIRES IMPARTS BOTH LONGITUDINAL AND CIRCUMFERENTIAL PRESTRESS TO SAID STRUCTURE.
