AN IMPROVED PROCESS FOR REMOVING AQUEOUS MISTS OF PARTICLE SIZE LESS THAN 5$ FROM GASES WHICH COMPRISES PASSING A MIST-CONTAINING GAS THROUGH AN UNWOVEN, UNFELTED FIBRE FILTER OF VOIDAGE 80% TO 98% COMPOSED OF INDIVIDUAL AND SEPARABLE "NON-WETTABLE" FIBRES OF VARIOUS DIAMETERS RANGING FROM 5$ TO 50$ AND DEPOSITING SAID MIST ON SAID FILTER SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETELY IN THE FORM OF DISCRETE DROPLETS HELD ON THE SURFACE OF SAID FIBRES, THE SPACES BETWEEN THE DROPLETS BEING SUBSTANTIALLY FREE FROM FILMLIKE DEPOSITS.
