IN A PROCESS FOR PRODUCING CARBON BLACK PELLETS WHEREIN FLOCCULENT CARBON BLACK IS INTRODUCED TO THE INLET END OF A CARBON BLACK PELLETING MILL AND WHEREIN CARBON BLACK PELLETS ARE WITHDRAWN FROM THE OUTLET END OF SAID PELLETING MILL, THE IMPROVEMENT WHICH COMPRISES OXIDIZING HYDROGEN SULFIDE WITH AN OXYGEN-CONTAINING GAS IN THE PRESENCE OF CARBON BLACK IN SAID PELLETING MILL AT A TEMPERATURE WITHIN THE RANGE OF 200 TO 1200* F., AND WITHDRAWING FROM SAID PELLETING MILL CARBON BLACK PELLETS CONTAINING DEPOSITED COLLOIDAL SULFUR.
