Process and device for heating fibrous materials in the preparation of pulp obtained by defibrating wood chips
Abstract
Abstract A process and a device for the continuous production of pulp by defibrating wood chips. This is achieved by the warming, drying or pressurized heating of fibrous materials in a steam atmosphere at 100-200 degrees C and under the corresponding steam pressure. The fibrous material is heated 1 to about 100 degrees C or more in steam generated from water present in the fibrous material itself. The necessary heat is conveyed to the steam by circulating a suitable amount of steam through the fibrous material after superheating (42) it to a temperature that is sufficiently high to keep the temperature and pressure constant for the incoming steam that surrounds the fibrous material, which is continuously gliding past and which can also be dried if required by the evaporation of water present in the material. <IMAGE>
