Hockey stick with vibration damping mechanism - has metal cylindrical part fitted in bottom of curved hook part
Abstract
Abstract At the bottom of the hockey stick curved part, on the bulging face side, fits a cylindrical piston type buffer, of which the face blends with the bulging part. The stick hooked part (1) has in the bulging face side a cavity (2) approx. coinciding with the inpad spot of the ball, during a stroke. In the cavity fits a cylindrical part of a specific gravity greater than the wooden part of the stick. The damping piston pref. is of metal. Arrangement counteracts vibration when a stroke is made. In an alternative arrangement, the damping mass may consist of a number of small ball bearings. The filling volume of the ball bearings may be 70 to 85 percent.
