Flow control valve for patient infusion tube - has two=part housing, one contg. seat, other adjustable and contg valve needle
Abstract
Abstract The valve unit is arranged in a tube (24,25) via which an infusion liquid is introduced into a human or animal body. It comprises a housing (1,2) with tube connections (6,14) at opposite ends to either side of a valve seat (8) and a closure member (needle 17 with seating end 19). The distance between the seat and the needle end is adjustable to vary the cross-sectional flow area. The seat may be arranged in a first housing portion (1) which is screwed to the end of a second portion (2) carrying (radial arms 18) the needle, the arrangement being such that the flow adjustment is effected by relative rotation of the portions.
