Tool moving unit for industrial robot
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To make quick positioning of a working tool without being influenced by its weight by furnishing an air circuit to supply the air at constant pressure to the cylinder chamber of a tool shaft and heave the tool shaft at all times upward. CONSTITUTION: The air pressure in an air circuit is adjusted in accordance with the weight of a working tool to be mounted on a tool shaft 13, and from this air circuit, air is supplied via a hole 13e to a cylinder chamber provided in the tool shaft 13 which constitutes a balancer. With the pressure of this air supplied, the working tool is heaved at all times upward, and the weight of the working tool borne by the tool shaft 13 is balanced with the heaving force. In this condition, a Z-axis motor 7 is driven, and a bearing nut part 11 is moved to an arbitrary position for location of the working tool, when it is possible to move the working tool at a high speed without being influenced by the weight of the tool and nullify hunting of the motor 7 through elimination of the risk of the tool 13 falling naturally.
