Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To identify lots of kinds of specifications with simple constitution by forming an identification index to identify a disk to the surface of a jacket exposed attended with the movement of a shutter. CONSTITUTION:A light reflecting plate 17 is provided to a prescribed location of a jacket 11. In loading a disk cartridge to a disk driver, the disk cartridge is descended while a shutter 14 is being opened and a chucking hub 13 is engaged with the driver. Then the exposed light reflecting plate 17 is detected by the opening of the shutter 14 to identify the specifications such as the recording system and recording capacity of the disk cartridge. Thus, lots of kinds of specifications are identified with simple constitution.
