Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To finely control an incident light quantity at every minute image-pick- up surface without providing a separate light quantity detecting element as usual by controlling the light transmittance of a liquid crystal plate arranged at the front surface of the image pickup device based on an image pickup signal corresponding to the incident light quantity to each minute image pickup surface of the device. CONSTITUTION:A light transmission member 21, which is the aggregate of electrically independent transmission elements and each transmission element of which corresponds to the minute image pickup surface of an image pickup element 19, is provided at the front surface of the image pickup element 19, and a control circuit part 24 to control the light transmittance of the transmission element, to which a light transmission member 21 corresponds in accordance with an output signal from the image-pick-up element 19 is provided. Thus, the light quantity received with the minute image pickup surface is used as a feedback element, and the light transmission quantity of the corresponding light transmission member is controlled by a voltage value conforming to the light quantity.
