Magnetic recording/reproducing device and magnetic head
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a device with high durability and without an absorption phenomenon by combining a magnetic disk with a surface roughness of <=100Angstrom , and a magnetic head with the area of a medium facing surface to be the lift generating part of a slider of <=2mm<2>. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic recording layer 32 with a film width of approximately 0.5mum is formed on the surface of a rigid structure 31 of a glass plate, etc., by a vacuum film forming method. The surface characteristics of the structure 31 becomes those of the recording layer 32, and its surface roughness Rmax is set at <=100Angstrom . Especially when it is at <=50Angstrom , the magnetic disk 3 and the magnetic head 4 do not collide even if they are operated in a semi-contact condition, and the durability is improved. Next, a slider 41, in which the area of a medium facing surface 411 to be the lift generating part of the magnetic head 4 is <=2mm<2>, holds a reading/writing element 42. By constituting in such a way, even at the time of the operation of a semi-contact system, the device can be highly durable without the absorption phenomenon.
