Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To easily realize the overwrite of information by composing a magneto-optical recording film of three layers bonded magnetically and adjusting so that the magnetic characteristics of the respective layers are made into a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:A magneto-optical recording film 4 is composed of the three layers bonded magnetically. That is to say, those are a recording layer 4a, a magnetic layer 4b for a first switching and a magnetic layer 4c for a second switching and the composition of the magnetic characteristic of the respective layers is adjusted like an expression I - an expression IV. In the expressions I-IV, the curie temperature of the recording layer 4a is expressed with T1, the coercive force of the 4a is Hc1, the magnetization of the 4a is M1, the curie temperature of the magnetic layer 4b for the first switching is T2, the coercive force of the 4b is Hc2, the magnetization of the 4b is M2, the curie temperature of the magnetic layer 4c for the second switching is T3, the coercive force of the 4c is Hc3 and the magnetization of the 4c is M3. Thus, without making an external magnetic field gigantic and making a recording and reproducing device complex and costly, the overwrite of the information can be easily executed.
