Shaft implanting method for tape cartridge base plate

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the perpendicularity of a shaft fitted to a base plate by providing a base plate support member to a bottom plate while being projected slightly from the upper face of the bottom plate so as to cause a stress canceling the residual stress produced in punching the base plate to the base plate thereby preventing the bent base plate. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical base plate support member 20 having the inner diameter nearly the same as the outer diameter R1 of a shaft 19 is imbedded and fixed corresponding to a knocking position of the shaft 19 while the member 20 is slightly projected to the upper face of the flat bottom plate 21 with the base plate 2 mounted thereupon. A guide pin 25 is implanted near both edges of the bottom plate 21 and a shaft guide plate 24 is fitted thereto. Moreover, the tip of the support member 20 is projected slightly to the upper face of the bottom plate 21 and the circumferential ridge near the shaft implanting position of the base plate 2 is supported by the member 20. Moreover, a punch 27 to knock the shaft 19 is fitted to the base plate 2 by using a flat stripper 28 and a pressure is applied by a press 31 via a spring 30 to exert a pressure more than the shear stress of the base plate 2 to the shaft 19 supported to the guide plate 24 thereby punching the base plate 2.
