Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To surely carry out thermal development by a simple structure by using a heat conductive holding means to hold a thermally developable photosensitive material after imagewise exposure and by adhering a display means which changes the color at a desired temp. to the surface of the holding means. CONSTITUTION:An imagewise exposed photosensitive material 22 is set in a recess 18 in a darkroom and an upper base 14 is pressed against a lower base 12 to close the recess 18. The outside of the upper base 14 is then heated with a household iron 24 in the darkroom. The heat is transferred to the photosensitive material 22 through the upper base 14 and part of the heat reaches heat insulating sponge 28 through the material 22. The heat that reached the sponge 28 is reflected by a heat reflecting coating on the surface of the sponge 28 and radiated again on the material 22. Accordingly, the material 22 is uniformly heated to a desired temp. and thermally developed. The heating is continued until a display means 26 adhered to the upper base 14 changes the color. The heating is stopped after the material 22 is heated to the desired temp. and thermal development is properly carried out.
