Production of superconductive ceramic body
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To make the critical current density of the titled ceramic body uniform and high by adding a specified binder to powder for a superconductive ceramic material, molding them, degreasing the molded body by exposure to a supercritical fluid and sintering the molded body. CONSTITUTION:A powdery starting material mixture for a superconductive ceramic material, e.g., composed essentially of Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO is calcined, the calcined product is put in a ball mill or the like and a binder soluble in a supercritical fluid such as gaseous CO2, e.g., stearyl alcohol is added. They are ground and molded and the molded body is degreased by exposure to the supercritical fluid to dissolve the binder and to make the molded body uniformly microporous up to the interior. The resulting porous body is sintered.
