Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a magnetic disk from being damaged, by interrupting the propagation of vibration generated by a vibration frictional force between the magnetic disk and a pair of magnetic heads at a part of a propagation path connecting the magnetic head on one side to the magnetic head on the other side. CONSTITUTION:An upper plane at the base end side of a head arm is abutted with the lower plane of a flat spring 28, and the head arm 25 and the flat spring 28 are fixed at a position where the flat spring 28 maintains elasticity for the movement of the head arm 25 in a vertical direction. And a cavity with length to show rigidity by the flat spring 27 for the torsion of the head arm 25 is formed between the rearmost end face of the base end side of the head arm and the side plane 5 of a carriage confronting with the end face. At the time of so-called head loading when each of the magnetic heads 23 and 27 is brought into contact with a magnetic disk plane, the magnetic heads 23 and 27 are pressed in a rotary direction by the torque of the magnetic disk 21. In such a way, since the torsional rigidity of the flat spring can be heightened and the vibration can be prevented from being propagated, it is possible to prevent the magnetic disk from being damaged due to the torsional vibration of the head arm.
