Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain the color conversion of satisfactory color reproductivity by separating a picture element to an achromatic color component and a color component, independently executing the conversion of these achromatic color component and color component and after that, synthesizing two color converting data. CONSTITUTION:For R, G and B video signals inputted from input terminals 1-3, a minimum value alpha is outputted per picture element by a minimum value calculator 4. A subtractor 5 executes the subtraction of R-alpha, G-alpha and B-alpha and these three subtracted values show the quantity of the color component of this picture element. A multiplier 7 executes matrix operation concerning the color component of the picture element with using a color converting coefficient matrix outputted from a coefficient generator 6 and calculates Y1, M1 and C1 signals. An ROM8 outputs color converting data Y2, M2 and C2 to correspond to the inputted alpha value. A synthesizer 9 respectively executes the addition of the two color converting data, which are the data Y1, M1 and C1 and the data Y2, M2 C2 and outputs them as Y, M and C printing signals. Thus, the color conversion of the satisfactory reproductivity can be executed.
