Control information communication system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To communicate control information with a short delay and a high reliability by adding a packet after a flag at the time of the presence of the packet to be transmitted and transmitting the flag as it is at the time of the absence of the packet to be transmitted. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the control information transmission indication from an input/output control and monitor circuit 18, a flag generating circuit 222 generates a flag corresponding to commanded control information and transmits this flag to adjacent packet reception equipments. Meanwhile, a flag detecting and deleting circuit 143 detects and analyzes control information and sends the result to the input/output control and monitor circuit 18. Thus, control information is added to the flag from a flag generating and control information transmitting circuit 22 connected to an outgoing line or the flag corresponding to control information is always transmitted on demand independently of the state of a packet processing mechanism like an output buffer of the corresponding outgoing line, and therefore, control information is communicated with a short delay and a high reliability.
