Toner concentration controller

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To maintain the toner concn. in a developer in a prescribed range so that a high-quality image is obtd. over a long period of time by reading the sensor output suited to the lot of a replenishing toner by a reading means and obtaining a toner replenishment start value and toner replenishment stop value suitable for the replenishing toner. CONSTITUTION:The output signal from a magnetic permeability sensor 9 is converted to digital data (y) by an A/D converter 17 and said data is stored in a memory 19 at the point of the time when a copying machine is completed and a power supply is first turned on. The content of a magnetic tape 15 mounted to the prescribed position of toner cartridge is thereafter read by a reading part 16 and is supplied as the digital data (x) to an arithmetic part 21. The toner replenishment start value Ts and the toner replenishment stop value Te are calculated in accordance with the digital data (x), (y) in tan arithmetic part 21 and are stored in a memory 22. A replenishment motor 24 is driven if the output signal from the magnetic permeability sensor 9 is higher than the toner replenishment start value Ts. The resplenishing motor 24 is stopped when the toner replenishment stop value Te is attained.
