Ecc-code generation
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the number of check bits by deciding a standard check matrix, eliminating the same set from each column group, eliminating a row whose elements are all zero, generating a resulting matrix and constituting an ECC code based on the matrix. CONSTITUTION: A standard check matrix H(s) is formed for an SSC-DSD code whose symbol size is b', whose code length is b'N (N is the number of packages) and whose check bit number is (r). Then, the same sets of e-columns are deleted from each b' column group of the check matrix H(s) (e is the number of bits subtracted from the SSC-DSD code), further e-sets of all zero rows are deleted to generate a matrix H(r) whose symbol size is b'-e=b, whose code length is (b'-e)N and whose check bit number is r-e and the ECC code is constituted based on the matrix H(r). Thus, the number of check bits is reduced.
