Valve system controller of internal combustion engine for vehicle with automatic transmission
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To aim at saving of fuel consumption and improvement in power performance by controlling an operation switching mechanism for intake/exhaust valves in response to the shift pattern of an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION:The shift pattern of an automatic transmission is alternately selectable out of a fuel consumption performance priority type shift pattern and a power performance priority type shift pattern. In the valve system of intake/exhaust valves is provided with an operation switching mechanism 10 for changing valve opening lift amount or opening/closing timing. A control valve 41 is opened/closed in response to a signal from a shift pattern selection detector 46 so as to control the switching mechanism 10, thereby making the operation of the intake/exhaust valves respond to the shift pattern. Therefore, it is possible to conserve fuel consumption and enhance power performance.
