Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain high speed packet communication even in a system having a large delay time such as a satellite line by comparing the number of reception buffers in use with a threshold value so as to apply window control. CONSTITUTION:A data receiver 2 counts the number of reception buffers 3 in use and compares the number of the reception buffers 3 in use with a threshold value of the reception buffers 3, calculates a window revision alternation number from the transmission sequence number given to a data packet according to the result of comparison, sends a reception enable packet attended with a window revision number and the data transmitter 1 receives the reception enable packet, calculates the reception enable packet, calculates the window upper limit to control the transmission according to the comparison between the window upper limit with the transmission sequence number. Thus, the number of reception buffers 3 in use is limited to apply consecutive transmission of data.
