Tool housing device for lathe
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To enable a tool to be supplied to a tool rest without any manual operation by disposing a turning member around a head stock of a lathe while providing said turning member to be turned on a plane orthogonal to the Z axis and providing a tool holding means movable in the Z axis on the turning member. CONSTITUTION: In working, a plurality of tool holding devices 10 are turned through a rotary drum (turning member) 6 by driving an index motor (turning drive means) 15 so that the tool holding device 10 keeping a tool 26 used for working is located in a tool feeding position X1. An engaging groove 11a provided on the tool holding device 10 is engaged by a tool holding member 17b, and under such condition a feeding cylinder (reciprocating drive means) 17 is driven so that the tool holding device 10 together with the tool 26 is operatively protruded in the direction of Z axis through the engaging groove 11a and engaging member 17b. The tool 26 projecting from the head stock 2 is supplied directly to the tool rest 27. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO&Japio
